Adult functional training
Coached small-group training for adults who want to move better, feel better and perform better in day-to-day life.
How the program works
The adult program is designed to help you move better, feel better and perform better outside of the gym, in day-to-day life. We all start somewhere, so every program can be modified to fit your current training level and your own goals, whether you are a beginner or advanced.
Members choose between two or three days a week, with multiple workout times to pick from each day. Before work or after work, the choice is yours. And the growing adult training community helps keep you motivated and encourages you to push yourself.
What a session looks like
Every session is led by an experienced coach. It starts with a dynamic warm-up and low-level power exercises to prepare the body for training.
From there, members work through two or three strength circuits built on fundamental movement patterns, for well-rounded strength development. Sessions always finish with a short bout of conditioning to promote healthy hearts and longevity.
The four pillars of our adult training
Every adult session is built on four pillars, and the same four run through every program at K2.
-
Strength
The foundation everything else sits on
- Regulates metabolism and hormones
- Lowers the risk of chronic disease such as diabetes
- Increases your independence, making everyday tasks easier
- Improves confidence
-
Movement patterns
Squat, hinge, lunge, push, pull, carry, rotation
- Builds functional strength that transfers to real-life activity
- Improves balance and coordination
- Builds an adaptable, functional body
-
Mobility
Mobility supports your strength
- Reduces the risk of injury and joint related pain and stiffness
- Increases the body's ranges of motion
- Improves posture and body alignment
-
Cardiovascular
Cardio that supports real life
- Strengthens the heart and lungs, improving their efficiency
- Decreases the risk of chronic disease such as heart disease and stroke
- Improves the body's ability to recover from stress
Strength + movement + mobility + conditioning = a program that adapts to real life. No wasted effort. No guesswork.
Nearly two years of steady work
When Heather started with K2, she was working with a 25 lb kettlebell. Nearly two years later, she uses a 110 lb kettlebell for reps.
She reports less joint pain, better cardio and body composition, and better mental health and confidence. Steady progress you can feel outside the gym is what the program is built for.
